Christmas Message

2 minutes is all you need to read this message about Christmas!

At Christmas-time the world is a different place. Towns are illuminated, families meet together and in general, people are more friendly and sociable to each other.
Schools and Churches put on ‘Nativity scenes’, giving us an idea of what happened long ago in the stable at Bethlehem. Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and Wise Men all gathered around baby Jesus in the manger. Donkey, ox and sheep stand nearby and angels hover overhead, not forgetting of course, the star!

With his long white beard, Father Christmas is the typical figure of Christmas, as all dressed in red, he is pulled along in his sleigh by his famous reindeers, distributing presents to children everywhere!
And, finally, Christmas carols fill the air with joy, bringing a message of salvation to the world. The message of salvation of Christmas is too loud and clear for us to ignore and we should bear this in mind as we celebrate Christmas each year.

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus, but the message of salvation is found in Jesus’ death on the cross.

In John 19 v 30 we read: When He had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished!” With that, he bowed his head and gave up His spirit.!” The Greek translation of ‘It is finished” is *tetelestai*.

This Greek word *tetelestai* means that a debt has been fully paid. When a purchase is made, the merchant takes the money, hands out a receipt and says, *tetelestai* - Paid in full.

So, on the cross, when Jesus Christ said, *telelestai* then bowed His head and died, He declared that He Paid in full the sins of the entire world!

A normal person has at least 12 thousand thoughts a day. So, not wanting to exaggerate, let us assume that only 200 of your daily thoughts are “bad”. If you are 40 years old, that means you have already had 2 million six hundred and eighty eight thousand “bad” thoughts until today! If you were to die today, with 2 million six hundred and eighty eight thousand “bad” thoughts (plus your “bad” words and deeds), would you go to heaven? I don’t think you would!

The Good News of Christmas is that Jesus offers you the most wonderful gift a man can obtain and that gift is Eternal Life! When He died on the cross, He paid in full for all yours sins. This Christmas, would you like to receive this wonderful gift of Eternal Life? If you would, I challenge you to read the 3 steps below and say the prayer that follows.

1º step – Ask God’s forgiveness for all your sins and recognize that you do not deserve to go to heaven; you deserve to go to hell!

2º step - Tell God that from now on you stop believing in a saint or in your own works for salvation and you place your faith in Jesus Christ, because He is the only one who can save you!

3º step – Finally, invite Jesus into your life now, to forgive all your sins and give you Eternal Life.

Do it now, because tomorrow may be too late! Some statistics say that 150,000 people die each day. Would you go to heaven if you died today?

Because our sins, Christ suffered and died. Why would you not embrace him as you Saviour from sin and judgement, and live with God eternally?

Please, forgive me God and give me Eternal Life.
If you are moved to embrace God's Son in this way, tell God in words like these:

Dear God, I would like to tell you that I really want to go to heaven. I am convinced that Jesus shed His precious blood on the cross to pay for all of my sins. I gratefully trust in him now as my Lord and I ask forgiveness for all my sins and invite Jesus to come into my life and give me Eternal Life.

From now on, I don’t want to be controlled by sin and I want to follow you every day of my life.

I ask you all these things in the precious name of your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

If you said this prayer, or if you have been challenged in some way, please send me an e-mail. I would like to pray for you and also for your relatives and friends.

Reading my post is the best gift you gave me this Christmas. Sending this post to a relative or friend is the best gift you can give them.

Thanks a lot and ‘Happy Christmas and New Year’ to you all.
